Gerda Shupe

Gerda has been a woodworker for a good part of her life, starting at an early age at her father’s home workshop and now her own. She now makes one of a kind fancy cutting boards along with a other related items. About 80% of the wood she uses are repurposed cutoffs from a local cabinet shop, the exotic wood she has to purchase. To make a great product it takes a lot of steps from selecting the right wood (hardwood only) to the appropriate glue to the right finish, all food safe of course. The artistic part is how to glue the the wood together pattern and color wise. With a life edge piece of wood it tell you what it wants to be sometimes it takes a long time before it speaks to you.
