Loretta Loy-Adair
I have been painting the landscapes of Sonoma and Napa for many years. The rolling vineyards, local farmers’ market produce and flowers give me much to appreciate. I paint in oils, primarily on location (en plein air) and my works are all original. I suppose my work falls within the category of impressionist/realist, but every subject wants to be depicted differently. Sometimes the end result is loose and ethereal or more representational, but no matter how the paint is applied–whether by pallet knife or brush, my goal is to capture a true sense of place that evokes peace and comfort in the viewer. My works have been sold in prominent galleries in Napa, Sonoma, and San Francisco (Fairmont Gallery, North Bay Gallery, Studio Gallery, and Williams-Sonoma).
