Peter J. Galea

Peter is a large format photographer in living and working in Napa.

Specializing in portraiture, he uses a 1932 Deardorff 8x10 and a Kodak Ektar lens.

Galea shoots black and white film, with the aim of capturing the character and personality of the people he photographs. In a traditional darkroom, the film is developed by inspection, then either contact printed on rare Kodak Azo or enlarged on Oriental Seagull silver gelatin paper.

The combination of film, paper, and processing techniques, produces unique images, and large format film gives resolution and tonality that is unmatched with other formats. Print sizes range from an intimate 4x5 up to 20x24.

Galea is available for portrait sittings, either on location or in a studio setting.
